The Know the Score campaign materials have been developed to enable drug services in Scotland to run effective harm reduction information campaigns targeted particularly at drug injectors. They have been made available, free of charge, to services in Scotland by the Scottish Executive, as part of the Know the Score communications strategy. These online versions have been made available for professionals (both qualified and in training) to preview before ordering, or to inform their work with injectors. It will also be of interest to drug injectors, and others (such as family and friends) of those who are in the target audience for the materials. The Campaigns The Break the cycle campaign provides materials for services that work with injectors to reduce the numbers of people who start injecting. The majority of people who inject regret starting, and do not want to encourage others to follow them down the same road. The break the cycle materials make injectors more aware of the things that can encourage people to start injecting, and enlists their support in helping to prevent people starting to inject drugs. The od campaign enables drug services to comprehensively address the issue of overdose. Overdose deaths have been rising in recent years and this set of materials aims to educate those at risk of overdose, and those around them about overdose risks, signs, first aid and prevention. As well as being available online, the materials are available in campaign packs, which contain enough materials for services to run a co-ordinated information campaign, and these have been made available to services in Scotland by the Scottish Executive, as part of the Know the Score communications strategy.
